Send Your Name To Mars Boarding Passes

In early 2014  I signed up for NASA’s Send Your Name to Mars that sends along a microchip with your name embedded within.  The registration was open to everyone. I have signed up for the other missions as I received notices that registration was open.  In 2019 I signed up myself and my granddaughter for the Mars 2020 Rover mission.  At this time registration is closed for all current missions.

The first mission was a flight test for the Orion spacecraft on December 5th, 2014 that orbited the earth.  This is the press release about the success of the mission.  https://www.nasa.gov/press/2014/december/nasa-s-new-orion-spacecraft-completes-first-spaceflight-test

The second mission was for the Insight Mission to Mars which launched on May 5th, 2018.  It landed on Mars November 26th, 2018 and at this time is continuing to send data back to NASA. More information is available at https://solarsystem.nasa.gov/missions/insight/in-depth/

The third mission is the Mars 2020 rover slated to be launched in July, 2020.  Information can be found at https://www.nasa.gov/mars2020
